The violation of labor rights of vulnerable groups imposes the need for increased activity of the Committee in the direction of providing legal assistance for the protection of the right to work. In this area, the Committee monitors policies for improving access to employment of vulnerable groups and the effectiveness of mechanisms for protection when rights of employment are violated and endangered. The Helsinki Committee will work more actively with labor unions and representatives of workers’ rights in the community to expose violations of the rights and to strengthen local capacity to advocate for workers’ rights, to organize and negotiate fair and dignified working conditions and to eradicate child labor, forced labor and discrimination. The Helsinki Committee is especially committed to the rights of textile workers across the country, as one of the most vulnerable groups in our society.
