Breach of workers’ rights identified at a clothing manufacturer in Makedonska Kamenica

Following a request for a non-scheduled supervision submitted by the Helsinki Committee for Human Rights, the State Labour Inspectorate – Regional Unit Delčevo identified breach of workers’ rights at DPTU Tekstil M DOO Makedonska Kamenica. Upon the conclusion of the supervision exercise and statements given by the employees, the state labour inspector identified breach of provisions of the Law on Labour Relations regarding the method of payment of salaries by the employer, and tasked them with correcting the stated irregularities within a given deadline.

The Helsinki Committee welcomes this decision of the State Labour Inspectorate – Regional Unit Delčevo and announces its intention to continue monitoring this case in terms of whether the employer will act upon the inspectorate decision within the given deadline.
