The Situation with Hate Speech in the First Half of 2025

In the first half of 2025, the platform govornaomraza.mk registered a high number of cases of hate speech and harassing speech, with the most prevalent content targeting ethnic and national affiliation, as well as the LGBTIQ+ community.

Political events, elections and the Pride Parade further fueled the increase in offensive and discriminatory
content. At the same time, the project “Strengthening National Protection Mechanisms against Hate Speech” contributed to building institutional capacities, strengthening civil society and developing key
analyses and public policies.
