MONTHLY OVERVIEW ON HUMAN RIGHTS – May, 2025
June 30, 2025

In May, the Gender Equality Platform voiced strong support for the Women’s Initiative from Shuto Orizari
and their response to the recent femicide case, where another woman’s life was tragically lost.
This case was not an isolated incident but an illustration of the deep-rooted systemic failures and institutional neglect that have endangered women for years. The ongoing disregard for pleas for help and the inaction of responsible authorities have often resulted in tragic, even fatal, outcomes. The Platform urges all relevant agencies – including the police, social services, prosecutors, and the judiciary – to urgently reassess their actions, take responsibility, and ensure prompt, coordinated, and
compassionate protection for women facing genderbased and domestic violence.
