Infringement procedure initiated against Jagjemezler DOOEL Štip for irregularities in the field of safety and health at the working place
Following a complaint filed by the Helsinki Committee of Human Rights of the Republic of Macedonia, the State Labour Inspectorate – Regional Unit Štip, found irregularities in the field of safety and health at the workplace at DPTU Jegjemezler DOOEL Štip. Namely, during a non-scheduled inspection oversight conducted by an authorized state labour inspector in the field of safety and health at the workplace, it was identified that the employer had an obligation to reassess the risk, to re-examine chemical, biological and physical threats, including microclimate and availability of light, humidity, dust quantity parameter, airflow in summer and winter period during the working process, as well as to train 11 members of the staff and to provide periodical full medical examination of 11 members of staff.
Taking into account the fact that the employer failed to act upon obligations imposed by the State Labour Inspectorate within a longer time period, the Helsinki Committee has requested for the procedure to continue following the stated non-scheduled supervision, and urged the Inspectorate to initiate an infringement procedure against the employer, in accordance with its legal authority. Following the submitted request, the State Labour Inspectorate – Regional Unit Štipinformed us that an infringement procedure was initiated according to the Law on Safety and Health at the Workplace.
