The Helsinki Committee for Human Rights has the honor to invite you to a press conference to be held on 22 July 2015 (Wednesday), at 12:00 PM, on the premises of the Committee (Naum Naumovski Borche St., no. 83, Skopje). The press conference is dedicated to 22 July, which the Council of Europe proposed to be declared \u201cEuropean Day for the Victims of Hate Crime.\u201d<\/p>\n
Through the current project \u201cImprovement of the National Infrastructure Against Hate Speech and Hate Crimes\u201d, supported by the OSCE Mission in Skopje, since 2013 to this day, the Helsinki Committee noted 223 hate-propelled incidents. All those incidents may be viewed on our interactive web-portal for registering the incidents: www.zlostorstvaodomraza.mk<\/p>\n
During the press conference, the publication Annual Report on Hate Crime in 2014 (87 incidents) will be presented. Furthermore, an overview of the incidents which are still ongoing in 2015 (22 incidents) will be given, with special emphasis on the hate crimes perpetuated against the migrants-refugees, and the responses to these hate crimes by the Ministry of Interior, the Public Prosecution Offices and the Courts.<\/p>\n
